Carnival Cruise Line's Celebration Key will welcome passengers at Paradise Plaza, while Calypso Lagoon will provide an adult-friendly experience.

These are two of the five 'portals' at Carnival's new Grand Bahama destination.

Just a short walk from the ship, Paradise Plaza presents a brightly colored promenade and sun-shaped arch for photo-taking. Music will play, and the sight of the centerpiece 10-story-high Suncastle starts to build excitement.

Wayfinding and destination information will help passengers choose how they want to spend their day, whether that's relaxing in a cabana, playing water sports, joining shore excursions or simply lolling on the mile-long beach. A Bahamian-themed fountain and ice cream shop add to the welcome plaza.

Calypso Lagoon

To the west of Paradise Plaza, the adult-friendly Calypso Lagoon is designed for those seeking a lively, social atmosphere. There's a sports court and, for those looking for a more laid-back vibe, a huge freshwater lagoon, loungers, daybeds and cabanas.

A bar with nearly 50 swings enables patrons to dip their toes in the water as they sip classic poolside and Bahamian cocktails. Additional bars are located around Calypso Lagoon.

Two full-service restaurants and casual snack shacks are spread throughout.

Adults-only space

A portion of the Lagoon and the adjacent beach will be designated as an adults-only area. In this section, cruisers will find a large swim-up bar with a DJ. This area will also feature Bahamian food trucks, cabanas, daybeds and loungers.

Three other portals plus a second-phase water park

Three other Celebration Key portals have been announced, including a family-friendly portal, a private retreat and a retail area. Carnival will share further details about these in the coming months.

It also plans a second phase of the destination that will add features beyond the five portals, including a water park.

July 2025 opening

The first ships are planned to arrive in July 2025. More than 500 itineraries currently open for sale include Celebration Key, with 18 ships set to call from 10 US homeports through spring 2026.
